Charlie Visconage grew up outside of Baltimore and has lived in Washington, D.C. for six years. He has a background in the performing arts through comedic improvisation and sketch writing, and came to painting through a close friend artist Matt Sesow. Since Matt’s introduction to painting, Charlie has found inspiration from pop culture, movies, animals, his travels in the U.S. & abroad, hip hop, and wordplay. His influences include artists Graham Roumieu, Roy Lichtenstein, Keith Haring, and Matt Sesow. He currently paints in his studio at DC Arts Studios in Takoma Park, DC, biking there before the sun rises. In Charlie’s world, animals have attitude problems, guns are golden, and correct spelling is optional. More of Charlie's work can be viewed at www.visconage.com.
